The kids are home today. Their normally resilient little bodies have succumbed to a virus that has caused over a quarter of their school to be absent. As I write this I have an extremely feverish 6 year old radiating heat on my lap.
The laundry basket is overflowing, I can see bits of crumbs on the floor, my taxes need finishing but none of it matters because right now two children need mommy rubs and assurances that they will feel better soon.
This is why I am so thankful for being able to have the flexibility to be where I am needed. Today I will be mommy and once they go to sleep I can snap into action and be Sheena, Business Women and Artist. Sometimes the days are long and I probably don't sleep as much as I should but it's all worth it to never worry about the kids getting the full attention they deserve.
I'll never be a millionaire but still be rich in life, snotty tissues and sick buckets.
Thank you to all my customers and friends who have supported my dream and allowed The Mermaid's Purse Yarns to flourish.
